AVI can help you learn how to effectively test Chrysler vehicles using a scan tool and how to use the data in your diagnostics. In this program Bill Fulton explains the components of various Chrysler systems, how they work, how to test them, and how to interpret scanner data. He will show you how to use freeze frame data, the importance of streamlining data and the reason behind looking at scan data under real load conditions.

Bill covers speed density system testing and the three types of controllers Chrysler uses (SMEC, SBEC and NGC). This course provides great information on the 5.7L HEMI, APPS (accelerator pedal position sensor) and ETC. Bill explains the backup mode, the 5 volt regulated system on the NGC system and positive feedside controls. He explains the OBD-II DCL (Diagnostic Connector Link) and SCI (Serial Communication Interface). Bill provides a complete explanation of generic data, a demonstration of Mode 6 and a line by line explanation of the enhanced mode menu for all scanners. This course shows you how to use KOER/KOEO tests and the memory reset test. Bill also explains ASD (auto shutdown relay) and FP testing, how they are different from earlier models and why you need to know them.
